can i install an os on a external usb3 hard disk ?

    Hi

    can i install for example ubuntu 64 or other software on a usb3 hard disk like WESTERN DIGITAL My Book Essential 3Tb USB 3.0

    it's 3TB, i mean what should i do to boot from it?

    I don't know about Ubuntu but you can use the TeraByte UsbBoot.tbs to.....

    i mean to boot and usb drive that is more then 2GB
    i talking about 3gb hard disk

    That's OK. I have Win8.11 on a 2TB USB3 HD.

    Running an OS on a USB flash drive is like watching grass grow.

    BIBM doesn't detect WESTERN DIGITAL My Book Essential 3Tb USB 3.0 , acronis disk director 12 last version gives me this error
    i tried bibm and disk director 12 boot cd nothing
    i can use only GParted

    Try BIBM Partition Work on IFL boot Media. It should work with your USB3 HD.
