    As far as my opinion goes, these are the best.

    Paid = Adguard Premium
    Free = AdBlock Plus, AdFender, Ghostery

    I visit some annoying webpages and so far adguard was the only one able to block all popups and ADs.

    uBlock for Chrome, AdBlock Plus for Firefox. Adguard is overhyped in my opinion.

    AdBlock Plus for Firefox.

  11. When you advise Firefox be so kind to provide a paid Sandboxie license with it, firefox has no low rights sandbox of its own.

    What does that have to do with the question which AdBlockers are best? I have understood his comment that he would recommend AdBlock Plus for users who chose Firefox and not as a general advice to use Firefox.

  13. This is Wilders Security Forum, so security related I would say (unless you think that a browser without a low rights container is safer as one with such a sandbox) therefore the warning use an application sandbox with FF to overcome this weakness.

    Although Ads are a PITA, they are not malware. OP might get more response by doing a search &/or posting in the Other Software & Services forum, where adblock software, browsers, etc are usually discussed.

    If somebody asks me which AdBlocker I would recommend, I will say uBlock for Chrome and AdBlock Plus for Firefox. If somebody asks me which browser is more secure, I will say Chrome is more secure than Firefox. If somebody asks you which AdBlocker you would recommend, you will say Google Chrome, because this is Wilders and everybody who recommends AdBlock Plus for Firefox is trying to say Firefox is a more secure browser than Chrome. Ok, I get it.

    That..has nothing to do with the thread. At least attempt to stay on topic, geez. On to the question: In my opinion, ABP is a solid choice in browsers it is available for. uBlock, I had some problems with a handful of websites not loading properly, and I could never figure out which of the many lists had caused the problem. If you don't have any issues when using uBlock, considering the lists it uses and the developer behind it I have no doubts that it too is a very solid choice and likely better. If you're more concerned with things like trackers, Disconnect should serve you pretty well. I'm not a fan of Ghostery as I'm not sure of their motives. AdGuard, in my own experience at least, let through a lot of annoying things.

    Whatever you choose to try, make sure to thoroughly test it for yourself. Including tests to determine if anything slips through when your first/initial launch of the browser loads a page with items you want to block. AFAIK, the latter versions of both ABP and ABE (still) have problems in that regard (with Firefox, .?.).

    I had a lot of problems with Adblock Plus until I started using the "EasyList without rules for adult sites" filter. :isay:

    The OP question was about AD Blocking; not Sandboxing...

    I would use AdFender instead of AdBlock

    but I've been trying Ghostery (with customised options)
    and I'm sold... it really makes browsing faster
