I tried NoTrace briefly. My initial impression is that I would like to keep it if it works ok with my other Firefox extensions :thumb:.

    Review.

    Installation.

    Homepage.

    Academic papers:
"Supportive, Comprehensive and Improved Privacy Protection for Web Browsing"
    Code:
    Pdf download at http://www.di.unisa.it/~delmal/papers/PASSAT11.pdf
"Privacy Awareness about Information Leakage: Who Knows What About Me?"
    Code:
    Pdf download at http://www.di.unisa.it/~delmal/papers/UNISA-ISIS-082913TR.pdf
    From the latter paper:
    Previous NoTrace thread: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/no-trace.334346/.

Very interesting...just an additional question to your thread:
We know that adversaries can use browser plugins for fingerprinting. Can they use extensions as well?

Another academic paper on NoTrace is "Privacy leakage on the Web: Diffusion and countermeasures." I haven't found a free copy of it though.

Does this act as a form of proxy
Just testing this and noted logged firewall traffic:
    193.205.161.4 TCP Port 8060

Not that I know of. However, there is an option to send info to the developers.

    @MrBrian
Thanks, maybe it is calling home as that IP corresponds to the developer.
Whatever any unsolicited traffic gets blocked by me unless authorised especially to port 8060.
