This is silly. My skepticism of cloud storage has been increased by 1 bar.

Cloud storage can be very effective, but one has to chose a bit carefully. I am very happy with the cloud storage service I use.

Seems logical. The trend of 'must-offer-everything' seems silly to me, tbh.
I don't expect my cloud storage provider to acquire some security sw company and start selling security software.
A bit of old fashioned Ne sutor ultra crepidam seems needed. And yes, I know, Pliny actually wrote ne supra crepidam judicaret.

Google Translate Italian-detected = "Ne Sutor ultra crepidam"
Google Translate Latin = "Let the cobbler more sandal"
Wikipedia (top Google Search result) = "Shoemaker, not above the sandal"

It basically means: do not mess around on something above your knowledge level or skill before you know what you are doing.

In other words they close their cloud service if it does not make them enough money. You know, all these openings and closings of cloud storage reinforces my disgust for these services. If I want cloud storage I'll fart out an array of disks and set up FTP. Then I can access anything anywhere anytime.
