    thank you ichito
can you tell me how this work?
"Auto allow the action for the components signed by trusted signer"
in ask user level work or high security level?
it seems must first select one action then uncheck it with Auto allow the action for the components signed by trusted signer option

You can tick/untick such option in Settings/List of monitored actions

  7. Make the GUI ASLR enabled is the only change request left to become perfect HIPS/sandboxing application.

How many of your are using the AppGuard like option to run some applications as restricted.

Auto allowing signed trusted in combination with running some vulnerable apps (and dll's like flash) as restricted, really is an ideal combination of user friendliness and protection.

I've finally checked it out, and I'm quite disappointed, the GUI is very unhandy. :thumbd:

On the positive side, it does seem to be very stable, no system crashes. :)

Don't get me wrong, the look and feel is nice, and it's a powerful HIPS. :)
But it's quite unhandy to manage the rules for example, plus it's missing some stuff, like lockdown mode.

If you still have Win XP (perhaps on a virtual machine), I advise you to check out Neoava Guard and System Safety Monitor.
Although not perfect, they were easier to operate.

I'm currently on a new machine, but I will soon post some screenshots to show you what a mean.
I will also contact the developers, perhaps they can change a few things. ;)

This is what I call a nice and handy GUI. :)

As you can see: It´s very easy to give apps certain permissions.

It´s also very easy to see which apps are trusted or restricted.

Lastly, it´s very easy to disable (or automatically block) certain protections/behaviors. You can click on the pics.

Do you think running Spyshelter and KIS 2014 together is overkill for keyloggers?

  13. Rasheed, developer of Nuova Guard has started a new venture called sheed antivirus. Seems a combo of NG with Avast and Eset engines. There are mixed reports on this AV (use of engines legal? supported by Iranian government to add defenses to US/Israeli government hackers?). Maybe you can look into it (no idea whether it is in Persian or Arabic language) and you start a new thread (let's drop out of this Spyshelter thread, not nice to hijack this thread).

    Regards Kees

Kees, afaik he left Sheed on july 2012. But I will ask him one of these days about this.

    @ Windows_Security

I didn´t mean to hijack the thread, I was just trying to show that SS should really be improved a lot when it comes to usability. :)
I´m also not sure what to think about Sheed AV, I hope Arman was able to make some money with it.

    @ gerardwil

Cool, do you still have contact? Perhaps you can ask him to develop a new HIPS for Win 7/8. :D

Edit: I do like the new SS website, they have done a great job: http://www.spyshelter.com/spyshelter-premium/

    Sorry, I forgot to respond.

I would be surprised if KIS doesn´t have strong protection against keyloggers. They don´t mention any specific anti-logger functions though. Can you perhaps post a screen-shot of the HIPS settings?

You can still get a lifetime license for 50 euro. :)
