I just purchased the lifetime license that was being offered but why does it say after I registered it, that it expires in 5/7/2015. My receipt shows it as being lifetime license but Sandboxie doesn't agree. What's going ono_O??

Hi Cathy, if you go to Sandboxie control>Help>Register, Does it says "Your product key does not have an expiration date" like in the picture or thats where you see that it says that the licensee expires on 5/7/2015.

No, it doesn't. All mine says is "The license for Sandboxie will have to be reactivated in 180 days" and then it says, "The expiration date of your product key expires 5/7/2015"

I was using the free version and just pasted my license key in it and then activated it, would that have caused this problem? It hasn't before with other software but, maybe this one is different. If so, what can I do to make it right? Thanks for your help!

Cathy, I wrote Invincea about your problem. The license server code was limited to 365 days but now that they aware of the problem, its gonna be fixed in about an hour.

You are welcome Cathy...and congratulations about making the wise decision of getting one of this licenses. Later, write something confirming that the issue is actually fixed.:)

I went through the registration process again and this time, it worked! It says: "Your product key does not have an expiration date". I'm just glad I found the thread about the lifetime offer on this site! What is the "activate without asking" about? Is that all it does and is it safe to check for it to activate with asking or should I let it ask first? Obviously, I'm still kinda new but I'm learning. Thank you again for your help!

You are welcome, Cathy. From this moment on, using this little unpretentious piece of software that goes by the name of Sandboxie will make such a huge impact in how much more you ll enjoy using computers and the internet than you do now, you ll be glad you got this license.

Hi Cathy, I think "activate without asking" means that after 180 days from activation, sandboxie will try to activate itself for another 180 days automatically.

Thank you to both of you for answering that question for me. I had wondered if that was what they meant but I guess I'm a little bit too suspicious sometimes. I just like to find out from people that have used it before. Thanks again!

Oh, I was liking using it before I made the purchase but I couldn't use the free version like I wanted too. I had already been to their web site but when I saw I would have to renew it every year, I had second thoughts about it because at the time I was just using it for banking and I thought, I would just keep using the free version rather than having to pay a renewal fee every year just for banking. So, I was so happy to find the lifetime license offer.

I think that's the right way of getting a SBIE license. First you tried and used the free version and after a while, when you start to think of ways how the paid version can be useful, then you get the license.

Cathy, regarding "Activate without asking". I clicked on that option I think from the first time that I bought my license and I have never had to click Activate again. I have noticed whenever I upgrade over the top (as I always do), if I click About Sandboxie immediately after upgrading, I see that it says something like The license is registered but it needs to be activated. I normally just close the window and if I open About Sandboxie again after running one or two files sandboxed, the license is activated.

Thanks Bo for that information. From what you have said and the others, it sounds like I did the right thing by clicking on the "Activate without asking" feature. I have always loved trying out new software and learning about it and this one sounds like I will enjoy it too! Thank you everyone for all of your help!
