who in his/her right mind would buy a touch screen in such a big monitor, which would be about 3 feet away. i guess people better hit the gym and start pumping iron if they want to keep their arms up in the air all day. lol waste of money. i'd rather get my own speakers. at least i know what quality i want for sound. looks pretty good. kind of expensive though.
search no further the right size, 24 inch is about the sweet spot for a desktop monitor the right ratio (16:10), it presents web pages/documents much better than the conspicuous 16:9 the right resolution (1900x1200), whatever they say about higher res this will give you crisp and clear the right type of panel (IPS) for good viewing angles
I use either the LG IPS224 or the Dell S2340M depending on if you need Vesa mounting for monitor arms or not.

I know that I have to get used to an 24 inch screen.... I hope that I can "see" it in a shop, but someone has to drive me to the shop I have been thinking about.
I bought a refurbished HP L1950 LCD Monitor for under $100. Its seven years old to be sure but it fulfills my basic needs and I'm not really looking for high end features. It makes my old CRT monitor look dowdy by comparison - and I replaced that only because the display dimmed and everything onscreen look washed out. Unless you need the latest and greatest in monitors, one a couple of years old can be a heck of a good deal!
