    1. Does the paid version of Bitdefender AV remove programs without user discretion like the free version is well known to do?

    2. How happy are you with the realtime protection of paid Bitdefender?

    3. How happy are you with its proficiency in removing infections?

    4. How much of a problem has it posed with false positive detections?

    5. How much of an impact has it had on system performance? Does it go bezerk on CPU usage whenever you open your Downloads folder as Microsoft Security Essentials does?

    6. If you have had it, how would you describe your experience with the Bitdefender firewall?

    7. How do you rate Bitdefender's support?

    1. Not on any of our computers that have it installed (6).

    2. Very happy

    3. Only 1 user is prone to infections and Bitdefender has kept him in check.

    4. None

    5. No complaints here. Has been running rather light.

    6. not applicable

    7. N/A - have not needed support

    1. Not if you change the settings, by default it will "take proper actions" I set it to move to quarantine.

    2. Very happy, has caught all I have tested it with.

    3. Very happy again.

    4. None so far & I have been using it for over a year.

    5. It is very light if you do a full system scan after installing it so it can build it's cache, then it will only check new & changed files.

    6. I use Bitdefender AV+ & that doesn't have a firewall included.

    7. The forum staff can take a while to reply but just like any forum there are some very knowledgeable users there to help.

So far, the responses here is different from the mostly negative user experiences of BD Free and those who tried getting refunds from BD. Goes to show how experiences differ from 1 person to another.

How is your boot speed? I have tried BD AV 2014 and my boot speed suffered. Even when I have disabled Wallet Application in the BD gui it still starts when I boot to Windows. The custom install offers nothing but a change of folder from the standard C:\Program Files to where you like, just that. BD support is also asleep I think. Sent them an email to,

    customerservice@bitdefender.com.

After a day I received a reply with a Ticket# informing me that they will take a look at my issue and reply within and up to 48hours. It's been 7 days now.

Sent another email to the same support email but I got an auto-generated reply that it's no longer working. Had to be diverted to,

    xhttp://www.bitdefender.com/support/contact-us.html

but the site is not working. Can't even attach images or submit my problem.

To add, disabling the Wallet Application in my startup items is useless as it seems to ave a mind of it's own and resurfaces every-time I reboot or start Windows. Checked my email just now and still no reply. Bad support.

The boot is a little slower for me with Bitdefernder Total Security than with my previous AV (Avast), I get a black screen for around 10-15 seconds but as I normally switch on first thing in the morning and go make a cup of tea I don't notice it. :)

Just checked the link I have and it is working fine including the image attachment - http://www.bitdefender.com/en/Main/contactEmail

@jasonbourne BDAV+ only seems to add a second or two to boot time but then I have a SSD as my boot drive.

Have never used the bitdefender email support so can't comment on that, I know they can take a few days to reply at their forums but there are very helpful users there like columbo that help new posters.

I really don't have any issues either, Tho I also have an SSD and I have Bitdefender Total Security installed and don't have any startup or slow downs.
