View Full Version : Can I ask something about KAV 5.0 Personal's License?

Hi,

I am in a great deal of hurry to buy a new anti-virus software.

I would like to buy KAV 5.0 Personal as it is 'ON SPECIAL' right now (on a couple of reseller's websites i've visited). My concern is that...is it 'ON SPECIAL' because KAV 2006 is coming out soon? Would i be able to upgrade KAV 2006 for free (if my license has not expired)?

Sometime ago...i think i've read it from somewhere...saying that you are only allowed to 'upgrade' for free if you have a Personal Pro License and not for the normal Personal version...but i cannot remember where i've read it.

Can someone clarify this for me?

Many thanks in advance.

For any KL product, the license key has a defined period, 1 or 2 years. During the time the key is active, all new releases of that product class (upgrades or major releases) are free. Renewals are generally 70% of the current price and I believe you can "renew" for an equal number of licenses from anywhere within the entire product line.

No, this is defintely not true, you can upgrade for free from Personal 5.0 to Kaspersky 2006 when this arrives around january 2006, if you have a valid license. :)

Just to add a bit more info.
You can upgrade from personal to KAV 2006 but you can upgrade the pro version to KIS2006. Although the pro version costs nearly twice as much as the personal you now get two licenses included which, if you have more than one PC at home, as I have, is a very good deal.
