:)
I'm using Diskeeper Lite version 7... but I'm just wonderin' if there are still some free defragmenter out there that can be considered much more better than the one I mentioned above. I'm becoming a little bit anxious, coz their latest version of Diskeeper was now version 9, but still m' using version 7 . :(

Are you using it in your pc? Is this more faster and also safe? ???
I'm wonderin', maybe it's more older than Diskeeper Lite 7... :-[

Perfect Disk is the most comprehensive and effective, it is slow compared to others but that is a small price to pay for the job it does.

DefragNT looks very sophisticated and maybe looks much more suitable only for advanced users... but haven't tried this yet.

I vote for Diskeeper Lite. Tried O&O freeware and a couple of others, but Diskeeper is the best - if you don't mind the nag screen poping-up when you least expect it ;D

i really like Dirms and Buzzsaw. i can't rememeber the last time i had to defrag, as it's done on-the-fly, and i just checked and there aren't many fragmented tracks or sectors or what ever it is ??? i'd bet it's as good or better then alot of the shareware software.
www.dirms.com/
i also have Power Defragmenter GUI.exe with Contig.exe which are also very good, better then the built in defragmenter, i think. i have DefragNT too.
i can't get to the home page ATM

i edited the links in before i saw your post. no, the one shipped with XP is no where near as good as Dirms and Buzzsaw. Buzzsaw defragments in real time and Dirms is a defragmenter. and for straight defragging Power Defragmenter is better then XP's too.

i use contig, dirms and buzzsaw.
using contig and dirms in a batch file. contig defrags the best of all of them, but doesnt move thr files, thats where dirms comes in.

the links are in earlier posts. i think Dirms is the best. at the same link as Dirms is Buzzsaw which works in real time. i haven't studied the algorithms used in these programs, but i spoke to someone who understands these things and he likes Dirms.
