I have shut off messenger but when I check Task Manager I start getting msmsg.exe and every time I try to End Process it won't . The number of entries keep going up. When I reboot they go away. What in the world is going on? This last time I had 10 entries.

Is the application "msmsgs.exe", or "msmsg.exe"? MSMSGS.EXE is the executable for the Microsoft Windows Messenger (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a8d9eb73-5f8c-4b9a-940f-9157a3b3d774&DisplayLang=en#overview). If it is the second one, then it may be a trojan.
If it is Windows Messenger, bring up the program and select Tools - Options - Preferences and un-check "Run Windows Messenger when Windows starts", and "Allow Windows Messenger to run in the background".

It is msmsgs.exe. It keeps adding entries in Task Man.

How many entries are in the task manager? And did you un-check the two options?
