IMO the results will be complete different if they compares Ghost 2003 and TrueImage 6.0 with the new DriveImage 7.0 ::)

Hi FanJ!

Txs for the info.

I think the new Drive Image v7.0 is the money worth, $69,00 is a lot of money but I know Powerquest software as very reliable, and DI was already my favorite image software.

Let's see what the new version is bringing us in comparision to other image-programs 8)

Hi,

I purchased Norton Ghost 2003 2 days ago & backed up my hard drive yesterday on 5 cd's.

Today I downloaded a program called Zip Genius & when I went to uninstall it I noticed my hard drive spinning continuously for 5 minutes. Then a window appeared saying that XP system files had been replaced by an unknown file.

I rebooted and I got a black screen saying the windows system root folder was missing!!!

I booted into Norton ghost using the floppy. Restored the 5 CD's and PRESTO I'm here writing this post!! Incredible!! Amazing!! AWESOME!! If I had bought DI, I would still be waiting for the CD & would have had to do a full re-install manually. Just not good enough.

It takes me about 7 hours to re-install XP & all my software & configurations and my wife would have been very mad if she couldn't access the computer all day tomorrow if I had to do a re-install. IT TOOK NORTON GHOST 2003 only 33 MINUTES TO RESTORE WHAT TOOK ME 7 HOURS.

I have tried DI & I had problems with it & found it very unreliable. Also, with the new version you can't make a boot disk so you have to wait for the packaged cd. If that gets scratched you're up the creek whereas with NG you can make as many boot disks as you like. With the new version 7.0 it can't partition your hard drive if you want to save an image on the same drive - they recommend you buy Partition Magic in their online video!!!

I wouldn't feel at all safe having only 1 boot cd from DI. If it got damaged I suppose I would have to buy & wait for another CD. That's no good if my system crashes today. I would end up having to re-install manually which defeats the very purpose of DI.
