Saving Image to the 'Acronis Zone'

Hi:

I have a 40GB HD in my laptop ... it is divided like this:

1 partition of 20GB is my normal C: drive
1 partition of 10GB is my storage D: drive
1 partition of 10GB is the 'hidden' Acronis Zone ....

When I create Acronis IMAGES, I generally will always put the image into
the 'hidden' partition on my internal laptop's hard drive. Sometimes I have to erase the current image(s) because there is now not enough room to store more then one image (even with HIGH compression) in the ZONE.

Anyways ...

My question for this post is this:

"After I have an image saved into the Acronis Zone on my hard drive, is there anyway to copy or MOVE that image file from the hidden partition to my long term DATA storage area on another PC? I have a PC with 2 200GB drives and one 300GB drive. I store, backup, and montior all my images and other important files on this system".

I would like to make an image in the ZONE so that if I need it while on the road, I can use it, but at the same time I would like that imaged stored in more then one place in case say the HD 'dies' or some thing worse happens and I no longer have the laptop for example.

Hi Sawgood,

My experience with the Secure Zone is that you can't copy anything in it to another drive, CD-R, etc. I think the idea is that Windows commands don't work in the Secure Zone, so a hostile intruder can't erase its contents.

Would it be practical for you make the image on your big backup computer and then copy it iinto the Secure Zone? ATI does allow that.

By the way, I move copies my backups off the premises, to another location. That requires making a DVD, but I'm a backup obsessive.

I know how to create an image in spots other then the Acronis Zone, but I have no idea on how to COPY/MOVE from a non-Zone location into the hidden Zone's partition.

Can you tell me how I could do that?

Oops! I've never tried it and have doubts it can be done. I think only ATI can write to the Secure Zone. Someone more knowedgable than me will have to take it from here.
