Hi. I just installed the latest version of SpywareBlaster, selected all the items in the database. I then ran Ad-Aware Personal and Spybot (both updated) and removed any entries they found. Then I slummed around on several crack and warez sites for about 15 minutes. Closed all IE windows and ran Ad-aware and Spybot again. One of the sites I logged on to changed my default IE home page to
hxxp://ok-search.com/ . Spybot found...
AvenueA
DoubleClick

Adaware found...
3 Tracking Cookies (Data Miner)

I know the program is working because I would have had MANY more and potentially dangerous items found but should it have protected against what was on allowed to penetrate?

Thanks,
Monica

Disabled link to OK-search as a precaution

Would you be able to duplicate that exercise and send me the cookies that Ad-Aware and Spybot detect? I could then take a look at them for inclusion in the SpywareBlaster database.

If you can do so, you can send them to press@wilderssecurity.net TIA! :)

Also, would you be able to send me links to the site(s) you believe may have changed your homepage? (Obviously I would prefer if you didn't post them in the open. ;))

Best regards,
