Hello,

I'm frenchi, sorry for my poor english !

I discovered the ACRONIS tools after a MBR crash and after purchase a USB disk with provided CD ACRONIS TI 7.

It appears, very good tools.
I do all my backup on my old PC (IDE disk) without any problem !

Thanks to ACRONIS DEVELOPPEUR.

New PC, New Xp SP2 Pro install on a K7S8E+ with a SATA RAID 0, (2 x seagate 160G), first job after install : image the C: partition
= boot partition
to the second D: partition, (all in NTFS) and on a USB2 drive.

T o o l s :
- GHOST 9 : backup and restoring = OK !
(access to the sata raid disk by F6 + raid drivers on disquet)
- GHOST 8 : backup and restoring = OK !
(access to the sata raid disk direct, without to do anythink)
- GHOST 2003 : backup and restoring = OK !
(access to the sata raid disk direct, without to do anythink)

- ACRONIS Trial TI v. 8.0 - build 937 : backup = OK ! but restoring = BAD !!!
... Trying with a full Trial TI 8.937 boot CD ...

Description within Restore image Wizard / Boot CD :
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Disk 1
Partition Flag Capacity Free Type
SCSI0_VOL1 (C:) - Pri, Act - 56,04 GB - 22,37 GB - NTFS
None (E:) - Pri - 242,1 GB - FS : None Partition 0x7
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Disk 2
Partition Flag Capacity Free Type
Unallocated 149 GB - Unallocated
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Disk 3
Partition Flag Capacity Free Type
LACIE (D:) - Pri, Act - 232,9 GB - 1,2 GB - NTFS
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Conclusion :
The SATA-RAID 0 is not recognized correctly !

I tested to restore the copy from the USB2 Disk to the C:
It appeared OK, but after booting, search of disquette and CD boot,
and then nothing, it's freeze !

I restore the Ghostimage, OK, it's good.
The C: partition was empty or inaccessible.
Within windows, I generate the report.txt file, and try to send it.

Where is the problem ?
Does ACRONIS TI 8.937, support the SATA RAID ?
Incompatiblity with the Asrock motherboard ?
... ?

Thanks for your help.

Hello dididou,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

Please create Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317).

Please use Bootable Rescue CD made using the free trial version (build 937) of Acronis True Image 8.0 in order to create sysinfo.txt file.

Please also create Acronis Report in the way described below:

- Download and run Acronis Report Utility (http://www.acronis.com/files/support/AcronisReport.exe);
- Select the "Create Bootable Floppy" option;
- Insert a blank floppy disk in the A: drive and proceed with creation of the bootable floppy;
- Boot the computer from this diskette and wait for report creation process to finish;
- Collect the report file from the floppy;

Send these files to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

Thank you.
