Pete,

What a GREAT series! A SUPER introduction to those who are new to much of this. The pictures that were included really added to an understanding of what he was writing about. I was thinking as I finished reading all four parts that it would be great to get permission to get this on Wilders somewhere as a recent, well-written introduction to data/Internet security with full credit to Scott Granneman. I took a look at his website http://www.granneman.com and he is quite the teacher! He and his series would make a great addition to Wilders.

To make it easier (I made the dumb mistake of reading the last segment in the series first) here are the URL's of the series in order:

Securing Privacy, Part One: Hardware Issues
http://online.securityfocus.com/infocus/1568

Securing Privacy, Part Two: Software Issues
http://online.securityfocus.com/infocus/1573

Securing Privacy Part Three: E-mail Issues
http://online.securityfocus.com/infocus/1579

Securing Privacy Part Four: Internet Issues
http://online.securityfocus.com/infocus/1585

Just one thing I was surprised by and maybe I missed it, but did it address securing hard disks, wiping files, freespace wipes, and the stuff we're discussing over in the PRIVACY SOFTWARE forum?

Great find, Pete!!!!

Basically, I'm just a pack-rat, ladies and gents.

Every day, as soon as I take care of the immediate concerns that I can deal with on this board, I start jumping all over the place, trying to read at least two or three pages back on each of the forums that I check all the time (when they have that much activity from one day to the next, and several of them do).

There are so many good, really sharp people on all those other sites - and they all have their own sources of info which they freely share with others. Their interests and concerns run the entire gamut of the Internet experience.

I try to bring back all the pearls I can find.

To you.

Thank you for enjoying it and benefitting from it. Pete
