Restore from CD in Active Directory Environment

I have a 2003 AD environment. I created an image from a PC to my servers "Backups" share

I put the bootable media(CD) in the drive
Boot.


Click Advanced options (the top selection)

I chose the location to restore to, partition, disk and what not
then I drill down through the network browser. I locatate my server
click the colapse button to display the shares, and it prompts for a user name and password. I put in my user name and password (with Domain admin rights) and it rejects.
then I try domainname\username and password
Rejected.
I try another user
rejected.

so I got clever and copied the image to a workstation, then drilled down to that workstation in the broswer. it promptsfor a user name and password.
I enter a LOCAL username and password for that workstation. It works.

so I find that Acronis 8 does not work with active directory?
I turned down the LAN MANAGER settings to accecct NTLMv2 and NTLM hashes, reset the password (so it is stored with both hashes)
it fails. with AD you cannot have local users on a 2003 box.

a way around this? or am I screwed? I want to use my server not a workstion for the images.

Please follow the instructions provided in this FAQ article (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/faq.html#15) in order to solve this problem.

If that does not help then please create Acronis Report and Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317).

Please also do the following:

- Boot from the Acronis True Image 8.0 Bootable Rescue CD once more and press F11 key when the "Starting Acronis Loader..." message appears;

- After you get the "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt, please remove the "quiet" word, click on the OK button and wait for # prompt to appear;

- Insert a diskette in a floppy disk drive;

- Issue the following commands:

asamba dhcp -n
asamba masters

- Write down or use a digital camera to make a shots of the output after each of the commands;

mkdir mntdir
mount /devfs/floppy/0 mntdir
cat /proc/net/dev > mntdir/net.txt
umount mntdir

- Collect the net.txt file from the diskette.

Please also describe actions taken before the problem appears step-by-step.

Send all the collected files and information to support@acronis.com along with the exact name and build number of the program and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.
