Microsoft Security Advisory (897663) (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/advisory/897663.mspx)

An exception may not show up in the Windows Firewall graphical user interface if you create the exception by modifying the registry (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/897663)

Microsoft's Firewall is also made of straw.
Fire and straw don't go together. Any fireman will tell you that. ::)

Of course the 'attacker' would have to have access to the registry and be able to modify it, as with the user running in Administrator mode, before the firewall exception is actually affected.

Great ... >:( Now I really want another FW. Looking at LnS now but Fast User Switch is still bothering me.

I wonder why isn't there anyone created a new OS yet after so many years. I mean just the OS will do and let other companies take care of producing the 3rd applications etc for the people to mix and to match sort of things.

M$ is just too greedy. M$ wants everything and has too many irons in the fire and that causes always lesser quality.
No wonder that almost any M$ software has a much better alternative on the market.
