Can NOD32 Vers. 2.5 be installed on a PC that has Norton SystemWorks, but where the Norton Antivirus component of SystemWorks has been Uninstalled (Norton Add/remove) and you are just using Norton SystemWorks for its Norton Utilities component only?
I would like to use Systemworks just for its Norton Utilities featureon my Win98 PC and run NOD32 for an Antivirus.
...... Has anyone tried this combination? Does it work? Or must I still remove all of Norton Systemworks, eventhough I will only have its Utilities Component installed?

has anyone done the same (successfully) - with NIS and removed the AV component only?

MichaelJH,
What procedure did you follow to remove Norton Antivirus Component from Norton Systemworks and just leave the "Norton Systemworks - with only the "Norton Utilities" Component"?
Questions:
... Did you just use the Windows Control Panel - Add/Remove and choose modify option fron the Norton Systemworks Installer/Uninstaller screens that appeared ?
... Did you run any registry cleaner pgms afterwards to remove any entries related specifically to Norton Antivirus Pgm that their uninstaller still left or was this step not necessary?

JBB,
Sorry for the delay in responding. I used add/remove and modify, and also found one or two stand-alone entries which I removed - but left Live Reg.
Also checked with Reg Cleaner, but found nothing related to the AV.
Hope this helps.

If you know how you can install just the utilities from system works and not the av. You don't have any av pieces left over anywhere that way.

I have done this some years ago and worked fine, custom install, just untick Norton AV at the start of the custom install.. never liked NAV ;-)
