Hello,

I am looking to buy a good corporate antivirus solution so I can scan,
and remove viruses on other machines in my network. I appreciate you
help as always and I value your input.

you might check this google search here (http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=corporate+antivirus+software&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8)

I was leaning towards Trend Micro's Office Scan. What I want is something that iis very effective, and a very easy way to install the client over the network.

I have read where trend micro is very effective and easy to deploy. it might not be a bad choice.

for a standalone corporate AV, mcafee vse is very good. but for a full scale deployment ive read trend micro is better.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus Business Optimal (http://www.kaspersky.com/businessoptimal), the best option for a small business/corporation. TrendMicro makes a good product, but not on the same level as Kaspersky.

I'd go with either TrendMicro or Sophos.

I noticed that Sophos was commonly used at various companies I worked for.
That said I never found out the reason why Sophos was used.
Also I don't want to go in discussion which one is the best, endless as seen on several topics on this board.
Wish you the best in choosing an appropiate one.

why scan other machines remotely, rather than install a capable solution on each machine?

just wondering...

For corporate TrendMicro and F-Secure are the best choise. You might consider Symantec or McAfee as well.

On larger networks, with "business grade" antivirus products, you do install a client on the workstations. The difference is it's managed from a central console, so the IT person can monitor the entire network from his/her workstation, view reports, and do custom jobs. Also deploy the client product, change standard configs, etc etc.

I've switched from being a long time Symantec Corp Edition/Small Business Edition supporter for many many years, to Eset NOD32's Enterprise Edition. The setup of the head server is a little more complicated than Symantecs CE...which I viewed as the easiest out there, but IMO Esets admin console is increadibly powerful and useful.

McAfee Virusscan Enterprise 8.0i and McAfee Anti-Spyware Enterprise 8.0 will be the best alternative for corporate networks.
