cd Is'nt regonized

using winxp sp2, saved image to local "c" drive. I wanted to transfer them to cd.my Image was created into 7 files 700 mg each. the Image files have an "tib" extension, after burning one file , my computer would not regonize It due to wrong format, or file association or the like. What did I miss???

What did I miss???" }-You need to burn all 7 parts of the backup to CDs. Then start TrueImage, and you can restore the image from the CDs if you need to. Windows won't do anything with the files, but TrueImage will be able to restore your system.

Could you please clarify what you try to do with the file on CD (use the Explore Image wizard or try ro restore this image file?). Please try to copy all the image file on CD and see whether the problem remains.

Please also note that you cannot explore the image on CDs or DVDs. You should copy all the parts of the image to a single folder on your hard disk.This will allow you to explore the image

I did save image to c:\ . my computer could not read the disk in drive "e". john's explanion seems about right. By the way I burned the disk's using nero 5.5 10, with ahead Incd. Is thier any other 3rd party software I need to deal with files created by acronis

Hello mugsy,

Please note that you do not need to install any special CD-writing software in order to achieve your goals, since you can burn your already created image archive to the CDs using any third party CD-writing software.

I'm afraid that it is still unclear to me what exact actions you want to perform with the already created and burned to the CDs image archive.

However, there are only two possibilities available:

- Restore\Verify an image;

In this case you will need to insert the last created CD first (CD that contains the last volume of the image archive) and then follow the wizard's instructions;

- Explore an image;

In this case you will need to copy all the files from all discs to one separate folder and then start the mounting process.

thnx u guys. The use of creating an Image to cd's is now clear since anything created within acronis can only be regonized by acronis right??
One other thing , which Is better to use to Icremently backup Images cd-r or cd/rw

Hello mugsy,

Yes, images created using Acronis True Image 8.0 are recognized and can be restored only by Acronis True Image 8.0.

Please also note that there are no any special recommendations for what type of media to use to store your incremental images, since it is always up to your needs.

If you are planning to erase the old images and then use the same CDs to store new ones then it is better to use CD-RW.

In case you do not need to use the same CDs more than once then feel free to use CD-R media.
