I have 3 pc's. One with WinXpHome, the other two with Win98SE.

I have them networked through a router.

They each have no problem accessing the internet.

However it seems as though Sygate personal firewall prevents them for the most part from talking to each other. I have it configured so that each should be sharing it's C: for read only. Sometimes I can see the other C: drives, sometimes not.

I know that when I am on a 98SE computer, and I click on network connections, my sygate firewall goes off on the XPHOME computer and blocks the NTKERNEL. I have tried and tried again to allow that firewall to permit this, but it wont do it.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi. There are people here that can help you with Sygate and I'm sure they will show up soon.
Sygate does have a forum where you might get some help also.

Hi Sky, Try opening Sygate then Tools - Options - Network Neighborhood & enable both of the Allow boxes. As you are behind a router this should allow you to share any of the shared resources on any of your PC's.

Did you check the Sygate settings as above?
Are you using TCPIP on all your PCs?
Are all of the PC's using the same workgroup name?
Are the PCs using DHCP (lets windows assign ip addresses automatically) or have you applied fixed IP addresses?

Sorry for all the questions but there are so many possible problems / solutions.
I am not running W98 so I am not sure if all the above are relevant.
