i must admit i'm impressed with how little a good PC costs these days
it wasn't that long ago when a 486 with 8 meg ram 400 meg hard drive + monitor cost in excess of £2000
my first PC cost £1000 and had a massive 16 meg of ram and a 2 gig hard disk running at 233 megahz with a 14 inch screen (did come with a printer and scanner though)
my latest PC cost £360 and has 512 meg of ram and 80 gig hard drive and 2.8 gighz processor with 17 inch screen.
At this rate my next PC in 8 years time will have 16 gigs of ram 3200 gig hard drive and 20 gighz cpu - 20 inch screen and cost about £120 (or free with a 2 litre bottle of cola) ;D
