Need Help Here

I am running a computer repair business and sometimes customer bring a PC for repair but he can not find licence key for his Windows and it make troubles when i have to reinstall OS...
Is there a way (software or web script) that can display his existing licence key so i just put it on paper and use it during the installation of operating system.
That way customer will have OS with his key again and he does not need to buy new OS.
I saw somebody posted some software that audit all system over browser but can not find that post again.
