{QUOTE-> In order to receive the Spyware Checkmark certification, an antivirus product must comply with a number of criteria. The product must effectively block spyware from the West Coast Labs test suite, which consists of samples of spyware programs that exists in the real world. Furthermore, the product should not generate false positives or other errors caused by faulty detection. <-QUOTE}
I like to read that. Hopefully it's true too :)

I am just glad that some of the av's are getting better at detecting spyware, It would be nice if they all did ;)

No surprise. I discovered that KAV's engine/database had better better detection than most anti-spyware software just by using the products side-by-side. If I was just concerned about spyware and nothing else, I would choose KAV over the dedicated AS products at this time.

Im just not sure how Trend passed that test....

I fixed to many computers that were infected by Spyware and "protected" by TrendMicro...

After this that test does not mean much for me...

I used trend Micro Internet Security 2005 for a few months and it works very well, it never allowed any spyware onboard. I also scan for spyware with othes apps also and trend always stopped it.

All,
Delighted to see this. These companies will be the undisputed leaders if they continue in this direction. If the consumer feels safe from AV, keyloggers and such with proof from rating services this will give such companies an edge as the users will have less reason to buy dedicated AT. The AVs must keep the updating on this type of malware just as speedy as virus defs. with false positives near zero, and offer super service too.

The cost benefit will be great. Market share will be gained from others.

Remember this is coming from a dedicated BoClean user too. ;)

That's what my readings are telling me too.
Trend Micro Internet Security 2005 is a good security suite.
Once I have read that the trend suite combined with CounterSpy is a good combination.

Since security suites will become more and more popular and certainly amongst ignorant users, it would be nice to have some comparision tests also specific for suites.
