Hello All,

I just got in my LiteOn 1693SX DVD drive and True Image 8.0.937 refuses to acknowledge the DVD media, insisting the CD is invalid.

This is not a problem with Nero OEM, which records at 16X (DVD) with it.

It is being used on my portable with Win XP Pro with a PCMCIA USB 2.0 card.

Can anyone help? I have InCD installed on the system, too.

Thanks.

I had a similar problem with my external USB NEC ND2500-A DVD R/RW drive.

When I attempted to write my images to it, it insisted that it was only a CD R/RW drive and not a DVD R/RW drive.

To get around the problem, I just had TI write the images to the hard drive (unfortunately, the largest image size I could specify was 700 megs I think; this didn't cause any problems, it just made 8 files instead of 2). Then I used Nero to burn the images to the DVD drive.

Did you format the DVD media first? TI requires that blank DVD media be formatted using packet writing software ahead of time if you want to image directly to DVD.

Hi, fdsa

That is the default size for CD's [650-700], you should chosen the size you wanted for the Image[s], typed the size in.

Take Care,

Hi, howie123

fdsa is saying he had Ti create the Image[s] to his HDD then, then used Nero to burn them to DVD from the HDD.

Thank you very much for the information. I did not know that.

I will look up how to do the packet writing format through the Nero software suite.

Again, many thanks!

Hello amalcom and fdsa,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

I would also like to add the link to the respective FAQ article (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/faq.html#20).

One more thing is that you can specify the image archive split size manually typing the appropriate value in the special field as it is described in section 4.4 of Acronis True Image 8.0 User's Guide (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/download/docs/).

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

Thank you.
