After the upgrade i can't see the icons who show if a sub-forum got read or unread topics
http://home.hetnet.nl/~jgl1/a.jpg
This is only the case on the main page. When i go to a sub-forum all topics are marked read where there should be unread messages.
When i logout and refresh the page the icons are back. Loging in again the icons are gone after i visited a sub-forum and go back to the main page.
Edit: Changed topic subject to be more descriptive of problem for future visitors - LWM

Hi Longthing,
Can you tell us what browser software and version you are using? Also, whether you are running any filtering or proxy software? These facts may help us track down the problem better (and perhaps recreate the circumstances).
Thanks,
LowWaterMark

I'm using IE 6.0 sp1. Same problem however with Mozilla Firebird. Don't use any proxy or filtering software.
I'm also a member of some other forums. No problems there.

Okay, and as noted in IMs, you've cleared cache, cookies, restarted browsers and logged back in - and all that did not help...
So, looks like we'll need some more ideas here. Any other people with similar problems?

I haven't got the same problem but I noticed that there are two different languages in the screen shot and, also, I wondered if one were accessing from the archive url rather then the new url if this would happen? I don't know that much about how this works so have a chuckle at my expense and please inform me if these are possible problems so I don't get humiliated again in the future. :-[

Hi Pretender,
No need for concern at all!! Ideas are ideas, and you pointed out a couple good things to consider here: the differences in language packs, and the possibility that the old "/archive" level URLs are somehow involved. :)
Problems like this are solved by trying different things, and finding patterns in what is occurring. Thanks for adding your observations!

Tried changing the lanquage settings in my profile but i can't save the new settings. Do not get an error message. Only a yellow "!"

We're not getting any other reports of this problem as yet, though, we've only been upgraded a short time at this point. I have to wonder now if it isn't perhaps some type of security setting or PC configuration that you have made common on these two PCs?

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Where's the yellow "!" exactly?

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with language pack.
I changed my Profile to Dutch and got the same problem.
Trying to go back next.

Pieter

Solved the ! mystery, I think.
When using the Dutch language pack that is supposed to say you have to enter your current password to change your profile, but it's empty.
Longthing, could you enter your password in the field under the e-mail address and then change board settings from Dutch to English and let us know if that works for you too.
TIA,
Pieter

Ah, good. So, the new member ID works fine then? All New symbols showing and all?. Is it also set up as Dutch?
If so, it sounds like there is some problem right in your other member ID. (Edit: or I guess Pieter you are saying the entire problem is in the Dutch language pack, right?)

Interesting Pieter. The Dutch language pack must be missing some error messages, as well as having a few other board display issues.

Okay, I see it, too. I set myself up with the Dutch language pack and saw exactly the same problem as described above. That is clearly it! ::)
Good find Pieter!! 8)

I don't mind reading English (writing is a whole other matter :) ), but can we expect a fix later?

possibly. But it might not be for a while (lots of stuff to do around here).
It might be an easy fix; I will look into it
