Is this a good deal, I need a faster computer pronto, mines is very slow.

As I recall, some of the 8k series Dimensions had RDRAM. Before purchasing, I'd try to find out what flavor of RAM was installed or figure it out at Dell. It needs a RAM and HDD upgrade, so this detail is important.

BigC's alternate suggestion is one route, the other is to check out the Dell outlet. I purchased one of my Dell's from there. As I recall, I was basically getting the installed software for no charge when I priced everything out and the system was new.

PS - I did a followup check, see here (http://www.4allmemory.com/search/dell/dimension.cfm?q=Dell+Dimension+8250). It does appear RDRAM was used. As you can see, an upgrade would be pricey and 256 MB is a little lean for XP....
