Hi,

I have ZoneAlarm Pro 6 installed on all my PCs on my home network which is a LAN. I read on a website that for the best protection, is to have it installed on all the PCs on your network. So I purchased enough licenses to do so, and I am just wondering if to be "fully protected" or "protected to the max", do all the PCs in my network need to remain On or is it ok for them to be off when not in use but still provide "the best protection" because its already installed on those PCs.

Thank you in advance, hope someone can help!

Any PC anywhere in the world is vulnerable to attacks ONLY if it is switched ON. If the PC is switched off, it means it is "dead". It is best to switch off the machine when not in use.

Hi Akshay, okay that helps alot. But one thing though... if say a hacker got into my computer because it is the only one switched ON in the LAN.. could he or she do any damage to the other PCs or no because they are switched OFF?

Thanks again Akshay for your reply.

If other PCs in the LAN are switched off, they cannot be attacked simply because at that point of time they are not on your network.

Cheers

Akshay.
