I ran this earlier in another forum without much success. *I couldn't seem to get people to read the thread before they posted. I am also sure that no further details are needed. Here goes:

I tried ad-ware and w/ my current software installations it wasn't happy and kept freezing. *My question to members is: *What experience have you had with Pest Patrol, positive and or negative...........os= w98se, nav01, za, vz. *I bought it on 11/30/01 and updated it as of 1/17/02. *Have not had any type of problems with this product, however, I was curious as to whether it has been reliable in catching the infidels........comments, advise.......tia

PestPatrol is quite a special program. In essence build for network administrators, it is actually very usefull for personal use as well. Contrary to other software reviewed on this page, it does not only detect and defeats trojans RAT's/Backdoors: it does the same with so called other "pests": f.e. worms, spyware, ANSI bombs, DoS tools, virus droppers, hostile Java, ICQ, password crackers remote monitoring, sniffers, spoofers and more. The software detects: the user decides wether or not to quarantine or delete. It gets a 4.5 from wilders.org

I might add that this report was excellent.........

Hi Phoenix,

No problem here with respect to PestPatrol (W98SE).
Some months ago there was a problem that it somehow couldn't detect all my partitions/drives, but that is solved !

No problem either to run AdAware.

Hi Phoenix,

Have you seen that there is another update.
It's at the update alert part of the forum:
http://www.security-pro.co.uk/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=updatealerts

We try to post updates there as soon as we see one; others are of course also allowed to post their update-alerts!

PS: I didn't know there is an Holland in Michigan!
Somewhere here I have a RandMcNally, hmmm but where, I'm going to look for it ;)

Yep, I found it! :)
I see some other Dutch names there too, for example:
Overisel (in Dutch: Overijsel), Zeeland, Vriesland (in Dutch: Friesland), Graafschap.
All are parts of The Netherlands.

Hi

I've been using Pest Patrol for some time now and I like it. It's *easy to use and I like the speed it works at. *It has picked up a few things over the months.
I am using it with Ad-Aware, NAV,ZAP and Script Sentry. *I'm also (just recently) using Inernet Organizer. *None of them is causing any conflict with anything else which is good!
