Is it possible to convert an existing WinXP FAT32 file system to NTFS using Partition Expert? All I could find was the ability to convert from FAT16 to FAT32.

Hello Colvin,
Thank you for choosing Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/).
We regret to inform you that current version of Acronis Disk Director Suite 9.0 doesn't allow you to convert FAT32 into NTFS. Currently, the workaround is to use standard Windows means (Disk Management) to perform this convertion. We expect this feature to be implemented in future versions.
Thank you.

Hello ^Ale,
Thank you for choosing Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/).
Please note that the way you proposed changes only the identificator of the file system. It doesn't change the file system itself. For example, all the restrictions of FAT32 partition remain, for example, you won't be able to create a file larger than 4Gb on the partition.
Thank you.

Hello,
I would like to make the NTFS->FAT32, it seems impossible too...:(
I've got a NTFS partition containing datas, and this isn't writable with Linux OS. So, I've tried to change type NTFS->FAT32 but my command "mount" indicates that partition is always to NTFS...
So ?
Thank you for your support.

Hello Arnaud,
Thank you for choosing Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/).
Please be aware that Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 does not allow you to convert NTFS to FAT32 file system or vice versa. This feature will be included in future, but I'm afraid that the exact time frame is not decided at the moment.
But you can perform this operation by creating a small FAT32 partition and merging another NTFS partition to it. Then your source NTFS partiton will change its file system to FAT32.
Thank you.
