Hey all at Wilders,
(sorry for reposting this again, but i mstill not sure what this relates to? i have seen on some computers but not on others very strange. I guess what im asking is if someone could confirm this should be there, sorry again S)
Recently i used msconfig and while using the system configuration utility,
I clicked on the WIN.INI tab and at the bottom of the row of ticked items there was a ticked box for 'Internal'.
I clicked on the plus sysbol next to Internal and got the following:
Internal
Device=(this had lots of E's, numbers and characters next to it)
Install=(this had ten numbers next to it)
My questions are what does this relate to? what is it for? Should i disable it?
Really hope for a reply.
Thank you Sam

To give you a precise answer, we need to know what version of Windows that you are using.
A minimum Windows 2000 WIN.INI file looks something like this:
; for 16-bit app support
[fonts]
[extensions]
[mci extensions]
[files]
[Mail]
MAPI=1
[MCI Extensions.BAK]
asf=MPEGVideo2
asx=MPEGVideo2
ivf=MPEGVideo2
m3u=MPEGVideo2
mp2v=MPEGVideo
mp3=MPEGVideo2
mpv2=MPEGVideo
wax=MPEGVideo2
wm=MPEGVideo2
wma=MPEGVideo2
wmv=MPEGVideo2
wmx=MPEGVideo2
wvx=MPEGVideo2
wpl=MPEGVideo
[Solitaire]
Options=95
You could back up the WIN.INI and delete the sections that you don't want. Then test the system.

My Windows XP Home system has pretty much the same entries as my Windows 2000 system. There are two sections that are different, [Compatibility32], and [Compatibility95]. I would say delete the [Internal] section that you have if you are worried about it. But personally I think that it is harmless. Could you post your WIN.INI file?
