DiskDirector keeps saying that it can't create, resize etc partitions on a drive that has defect clusters...
Why? Scandisk marked them as defect, so why can't it work with that partitions, while Windows can?

Hello Solode,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Partition and Disk Managing Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/).

We regret to inform you that Acronis Disk Director Suite cannot work with disks that contain bad sectors. You will not be able to use this program to resize or create a partition.

Thank you.

Why can Windows handle such partitions, and acronis can't?
Simply let the marked sectors alone, or mark it for/in Windows...

Hello Solode,

You should be able to copy the partition but not resize. It is very difficult to resize the partition containing bad blocks. I have contacted our Development Team and they tell they are currently trying to find a way to perform the resizing of partitions with bad blocks. Please note that Windows doesn't have any tools to resize partitions, which allows to manipulate even with the partitions that contain bad sectors.

Thank you.
