Well, how should a 64Bit application work on a 32Bit System without the 64Bit CPU and/or an 64Bit Emulator on a 32Bit machine?

There's no difference in the program apart from that v. 2.51 contains AMON's driver and IMON's dll for 64-bit Windows systems.

It works fine on 32 bit systems as well. At least there are no problems here.

Since McAfee and Symantec still only have corp versions this might be a great chance to get some additional customers!

English is not his first language obviously. However the question was understood by others. Expected better.

I tend to agree, I understood the meaning of the post, I too expected better, and especially from a forum moderator.

The release of NOD32-64 Bit proves once again that Eset is the leader in antivirus software and once again they have surpassed my expectations. Well done Eset! Version 2.51.8 is the leader in antivirus protection for 32 and 64 bit operating systems, in my opinion, and reinforces my continued support for this product. :)

Do any of you know if there were major changes from the 2.51.3 to the new 2.51.8? I don't know if I should update cause my setup is working flawless and don't wanna screw it up by upgrading to the new version.

I just upgraded to 2.51.8 and the installation was flawless. Just follow the prompts and when it asks to keep present settings, allow it to proceed.

My understanding is that version 2.51.8 now has Imon and Amon for 64 bit antivirus protection, while the beta did not have Amon protection.

Hope this helps. :)

Actually, the software should be soooo inteligent it could decide on its own which AMON will guard your chips.. :lurking:

So, we can use the 64bits in a 32bits system without any problem?

Vampiric Crow asked,
"So, we can use the 64bits in a 32bits system without any problem?"

Yes you can! I have version 2.51.8 of NOD32 running in both 32 bit and 64 bit in my dual boot system. Works very well in both. ;D

because maybe ESET wants to emphasize it is fully featured 64bit version, with all segments customized for 64bit computing... for now... I think in 2.55 or 3.0 we see it together...

vee

It is not just the Chinese version. The first languages to get NOD32 2.50 were English, Slovak, and Czech, I believe. Everyone else has had to wait for the software to get translated into their language. For example, I think Spanish was recently added, but many others are still waiting....
