Hello thomasjk,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

Problem of this kind are usually due to bootable rescue media being corrupt. Please create Acronis Bootable CD once again. This should solve the problem.

Thank you,

I built the bootable CD twice using a CD-R and a CD-RW. I also used build 889 and got the same error in all cases. I want to purchase this SW but not if it won't work on my desktop. I also tried it on my laptop and had no problems with the Rescue CD booting.

Oleg, I built a new rescue CD on my laptop and it boots ok there but it fails with the same error on the Gateway Desktop. This clearly not a case of corrupt media.

Hello thomasjk,

Could you please boot your computer from the Acronis True Image rescue disc (the full version) and press F11 key when the "Starting Acronis Loader..." message appears? After you get the "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt, please add the command "nousb" (wihtout quotation marks and without removing the "quiet" word) and click on the OK button.

If the problem still persists please send the shot you posted here to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread indicating in the subject of the letter that you want to contact Marian Fadeeva. She will certainly help you with the solution for this problem.

Thank you.

Ilya, I did as you suggested and this corrected the problem. Is there a way to do this permanently add this statement?
