Hi All,

I may be posting this in the wrong place but since it involves Nod32 (or appears to) I thought I would try the knowledgeable posters in my "home" forum first.

A Hijack this analysis has returned this result:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.nod32.com/scriptless/support/info.htm Nasty
Nasty This entry should be fixed by HijackThis!
This entry should be fixed by HijackThis!

This is my home page entry if I use IE instead of Firefox and I can't see any reason why it should be classed as Nasty.

I have done several scans with Nod32 and Ewido, A Squared and the usual Adaware/Spybot/Microsoft Antispyware applications and all come up clean so I am reluctant to take this seriously enough to delete the entry without some input from somebody who knows more than I do.

TIA,
Elray :-\

Speaking of that R0 Home page entry only....if it's not what HJT considers a valid default Internet Explorer entry....it will flag it. Same goes for IE's default Search pages, Search Assitance, Customize search....etc.

Even having Wilders as your Home page would have triggered an alert R0. It's simply making you aware so you can take appropriate action if it's not an item you added as noted in the Info on selected item you selected. If you are a seldom user of HJT....I suggest you consider using one of it's built in features to ignore items....Add checked to ignore list....and in future scans you can then see newer items.

Thank you, Bubba. That's all I wanted to know.

I am not a frequent user of Hijack this and only ran the automated analyser out of curiosity. It was the only entry which was flagged so I now have no concerns about it after your explanation.

Cheers,
