Mouse not working with Build 903 Boot CD

I just downloaded TI 8.0 Build 903. Did an update over Build 826. Created a Bootable Rescue CD. Booted from the Rescue CD like always. It did boot up fine but no MOUSE. I could move the cursor between the 4 options on the main screen but couldn't do anything else. No way to shutdown TI, even the power down button on the tower wouldn't work. Had to turn off power on the surge protector.

Win XP Home SP2 on a Dell 4300. Mouse is USB 1.0 plugged right into the USB port on the tower like it has been for 3 1/2 years. It's a Logitech optical mouse with USB cable.

I had this same problem when I upgraded from Build 800 to 826. Have not upgraded since then. Thought the problem might be fixed by now but guess not.


Guess I will create "sysinfo.txt" and send it to support.

Most Logitech USB mice I've used will work as PS/2 mice with the green adapter. PS/2 mice are recognized by TI, so why not use the PS/2 port.

I'll try the 10 second delay.

Same problem using the green adapter.

My bad!! I forgot that I had ( couple of months ago) used the green PS2 connector on the mouse and left it on there. It appears that the problem I had with Build 903 was with the PS2 mouse connection. Once I put it back to USB, then the Build 903 boot CD came up with the mouse working.

I think I will leave well enough alone and use the USB mouse connection. Still not sure why the PS2 wouldn't work with Build 903 but at this point, I'm happy.
