Software for joining movie files together

I'm trying to find the best software for joining movie files (eg. MPEG, WMV, AVI) together and was wondering what people recommend, and for what reason.

Any ideas ?

Also, can any of the software packages in Nero 6 Reloaded be used to join movie files together ?
