Doctor Web, Ltd., the developer of the popular Dr.Web anti-virus, announces release of the new free service developed for users traveling on the World Wide Web with the help of Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox or MS Internet Explorer.

New free service by Doctor Web, Ltd. is designed as a plug-in, which scans for viruses and different kinds of malicious programs, such as dialers, spywares or adwares any link to a page before it is s opened, or any file before it is downloaded onto a computer with the most up-to-date version of the Dr.Web scanner and hot add-ons to the virus base, released twice per hour – no other antivirus company releases updates so often!

To scan a link or a file, you should neither to install the Dr.Web antivirus onto your computer, nor download the file you want to open or save — the scanning for viruses is done on the servers of the Global updating system of the Dr.Web antivirus. Depending on the size of the checked file, the scanning will be done in several seconds and then you can open the page or download the file and never fear of a virus attack.

To enjoy our service, just install the plug-in for your browser:

* for Mozilla - Firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&id=938 Click the "Install Now" on the page with the plug-in. After this is added to the registry, and you decide to d/l a file, what is supposed to happen?
I am a bit confused, (doesn't take much).... I am lost...where is the map...lol

Unfortunately I get, in the hypertext, a line with some Russian characters, not like what you have in your screen shot.
For the record, I do have Dr Web installed on this PC.

it also happens to my ie menu after i imported the reg file. But by editting the registry, the problem solved.

btw, does anyone know how to add the similar command to the opera menu?

So save this as "whatever.reg" I edited for you After you save right click merge (or edit "Scan with Dr.Web" with whatever you want it to say)

It's an online scanner GT182 except you're not submitting a file from your HD - just a link to the file. It's a great idea.

Yeah,this way,file is transfered from original server directly to DrWeb scan server which then returns you the result. Tricky,but effective hehe :)

Well, you never know. It's not that hard to impliment it since majority of AVs already have web based (single file) scanners (Kaspersky,DrWeb,avast!,Norman,ClamAV) etc...

Thanks guys, I'll give it a try.

I'm using Zone Alarm, AVG Free and the paid for Webroot Spy Sweeper. So far all 3 have kept my computer free of the nasties. The addition of Dr. Web will be great for downloaded files as an added precaution.

BTW... this is the best site I've seen for virus help and protection. Great job guys. I'm passing on the link to it to my friends. ~S!~

Your assistance is appreciated and it now looks as in your screen shot.
Some pages give me a script error, when I let the good DR do the scan, but I must admit those are "highly" questionable sites which I use to test AT's and AV's. I know those sites are "suspect" (ok..no flaming...this PC is used for test purposes)
