the usual - loosing loved ones in any form - but on a more personal level - I can't stand bees and wasps. I walked into a (ground) hive and had to run like hell. I got stung on my head anyway.

Growing older, .... being in poor health and unable to care for myself. Losing my spouse.

-{ Quote: "Growing older, .... being in poor health and unable to care for myself. Losing my spouse." }-I can relate in a way. For me: Growing older and never having a spouse and no one to take care of me if I'm sick - it's too late for kids already, I'm really sad over that.

I think what scares me the most is death-not mine but of the people I love. Also I have a phobia of worms and nightcrawlers and snakes.

Not being fully retired and comfortable by age 55 ... that all our planning and effort may not payoff, you can minimize uncontrollable risks but you can't eliminate them completely. I can't wait for play time 8)

I have a fear of being a failure. It doesn't stop me from trying, but it really makes me ill when I can't get something right or someone looks down at me.

Severe fear of falling (not heights, just the fall). Yet I've been bungee jumping 3 times and I love rollercoasters...go figure.
You know what they say, it's not the fall that kills you..its the sudden stop.

yes, that would be my biggest fear too: of being a failure...lies deeper then someone thinks...ending up all alone...that scares me to death.

Hey Bubba...I hope your not boasting that you could actually get into a 12" Culvert.....I know for a fact I couldn't....so that's another fear of mine got rid of....Thanks ;D

I tend to go with dear old Spike Milligans logic...He said he wasn't frightened to die, he just didn't want to be there when it happened......(I can live with that!)

I think the secret here then, is, DON'T go in Culverts........ ;D ;D And don't fish in Culverts either, the fish will never ever be worth boasting about, I know...and nobody can lie about fish like I can.....Did I tell you about that 650lb. cat-fish I caught in Thailand with just a bent pin and a bit of wool that was unravelling from my knitted scarf??........... ;D

The thing that scares me the most? My children dying before me. If they are alive and in good health when i'm ready to go, it will make it so much easier. I just couldn't bare to bury one of my children. It scares me to death just thinking about it!!!

That something might happen to my kids or my husband.
With them in my life, I could handle anything else.
