common files

c:\program files\common files folder has programs listed in it that i don't even have installed on my computer anymore. are these ok to delete?

As long as you're certain that the files are no longer required by other applications, it should be safe to delete them. I would suggest renaming any folders or files that you wish to delete first, and then, if you see no problems after a few days computing, it should be safe to delete them.
