MRU-Blaster needs self-authorization

WinXp Home. When I startup, MRU-Blaster requires authorization for two of its own actions. Sorry, I don't have the pop-up boxes available.

In any case, if it needs to authorize itself, I would have thought that clicking "Yes" would be enough to stop it asking next time.

Is this normal? How can I prevent it?

That certainly isn't normal...perhaps you could post the text in the pop-up boxes the next time it happens?

No, I'm running xp-pro and I don't have those pop-ups. Perhaps uninstall and reinstall fresh?

BTW, did this recently begin? Did the program not require auth. previously?

I ask because if you updated WinXP-home using any of the recent critical updates, that may be a problem as there is a lot of concern with the updates beginning around April 16. I had to uninstall several updates and during the update I had to go back to a previous restore point.

Here's one message:

The program

MRUBlaster

has registered the executable

C:\Program Files\MRU-Blaster\indexcleaner.exe -COOKIES

to run at system startup.

Do you wish to allow this change?

"Yes" "No"

When I click Yes, I get a similar message, except with

C:\Program Files\MRU-Blaster\indexcleaner.exe -CC

It seems that though I click Yes to both of these, on the next startup, I get the same popups again.

Ah - that would be because you set up the MRU-Blaster plug-ins.

To clean the index.dat files, which are locked during normal Windows operation, MRU-Blaster has to set the index.dat file cleaner file to run at startup before anything else runs.

Id just like to note that windows xp home and windows xp pro, are two completely different products and win xp home has less administrative rights, (e.g the owner of winxp home doesnt have full admin rights!)
