Whether I use Perfect Disk, or ChkDsk I always get a message that there are open handles that I have to force shut before I can defragment, or do other disk operations. Why this partition? I have 15 partitions in all and the only two that get that message are my system partition and this partion, G:
The system partition is understandable. All I use G: for is to store program downloads and updates. It is not even the first partition on the drive, in fact it is the last partion on Drive #2. It is an Extended Partion, like all of the rest except for the bootable system partition. Most of it's files are compressed with winRAR. This my be a little paranoid, but it makes me wonder if there might be some sort of trojan download, or something.
Is there a way to know what the "open handle" is?
Here is an example of one of the messages I get.
