A simple question.
Is it necessary to FDISK and Format in the usual tradtional manner before cloning the new drive with Acronis 859?
Many thanks

If your question is do you need to format and check/repair your brand new hard disk before you clone to it, the answer Acronis will give is no, you don't have to.

If the question is should you then the answer is why not?

It sure doesn't hurt to prepare a new hard drive for cloning so you know it's in the best shape it can be in before you begin.

I even do the check/repair to the old one before I start.

I reckon that is true, but not knowing how to fdisk, format etc I was trying to confirm that it is possible to do it an easy way.
Thanks for your input and I may be sorry for not following your advice if I am faced with a necessity to do a clone.
