I'm alittle confused, is spywareblaster protecting me from spyware or not? Why is it suggested that one get spybots? Is spyware different then adware?I guess I don't understand what spywareblaster is?

Spywareblaster basically prevents the installation of activeX controls with killbits in the registry where as spybot uses signatures to define spyware. They work well together.

Spyware Blaster also does the following.

Prevents ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted software from installing on your computer
Prevents Hijack on homepage
Protection againest bad sites on IE/FireFox/Mozilla
