Curious, why does Generic Host Process want to use PortExplorer to access my ISP's DNS servers?

Thanks.

Hi George,
there are several programs (processes) using that svchost, of which among others life updates for av/at scanners, firewalls, winamp and others. To know for sure which process it is exactly calling outside you might like to try to spy on it and probably you'll see some in the firewall logs as well.
Or you can block the sending/receiving process and see what is not functioning then! :)
