After the most recent Spywareblaster update, the last 5 activeX entries appeared in red, and attempts to enable protection for those 5 entries are ineffective. The entries are:
Creatrix Media/Neededware
Direct-Ip Adware
Begin2Search Adware (3)
Adult Content Dialer
7AdPower Dialer (45)

Additional suspicious symptom: MSAS update is also ineffective.

Spybot S&D, Adaware and Hijack This scans revealed nothing unusual.

This abnormality occurred on only 1 of 6 workstations with similar platforms and with identical security utilities. Protection for the 5 referenced entries were enabled on the other 5 workstations.

Any idea what is causing this? How do I fix it?
What is the significance of entries that are colored red?

Thanks in advance.

Would you also be specific in regards to "identical security utilities" Please.

If so....and without assuming wrongly....does this particular workstation have Admin rights ? {QUOTE-> What is the significance of entries that are colored red? <-QUOTE}The unchecked items denote protection disabled(not enabled)....or in some known cases protection is being removed falsely by some adware\spyware cleaning programs.

Duh... Admin rights. Of course. (Blush!) The oldest trick in the NT book.
That did it. Thanks.
