I found this wireless security software called SafetyNet - www.safetynet-pc.com. Has anyone else tried this yet?

If you spend a lot of time using public access points, then this might be worth it:

-{ Quote: "How much does SafetyNet cost?
The SafetyNet service is available with one of the following monthly plans:

» Basic Plan - $4.99 for 100 MB of data transferred per month
» Standard Plan - $9.99 for 350 MB of data transferred per month
» Advanced Plan - $14.99 for 500 MB of data transferred per month
» Power User Plan - $24.99 for 1000 MB (1GB) of data transferred per month" }-

They really should have a metered plan. They log you off if you go over your quota.

If your home network is configured properly, then you do not need it.

If latency is an issue for you, then I would not use it. Gaming is one area where latency is an issue. Anything that deals with real time data.

-{ Quote: "Will I be anonymous online?
The SafetyNet service will offer full anonymity in a future version." }-

This means that they will use an anonymous (a.k.a. blind) proxy server. Some sites will not allow you to access them from behind a blind proxy server. Not a bad thing, just something to be aware of. There are a lot of free anonymous proxy servers that you can use.
