***Be advised***
The new Reffile format is not backward compatible with previous
versions of Ad-Aware. This is also true with previous reflist.sig
files and Ad-Aware 5.8. So please be sure to update to v5.8 which
includes the new reffile (005-29-04-02)

*Please uninstall all previous installed Ad-aware versions before installing *this update.

Future release of RefUpdate planned within the next few days to a week. Please watch this forum for the announcement.
Proposed update includes:
Proxy support
Additional servers

Plus users

Ad-aware Plus users are instructed to use their username, password and link received in the announcement email for version 5.71.
You will still be receiving your email notification as normal.

Because of new reference-file file name, Ad-Aware Checker will be updated soon to cover the new version (with a checkbox for 5.71 and below, and 5.8 and above).

Should say

For anyone having problems un-installing their previous version of AA, this was posted on the LS site:

"To everybody who have problems uninstalling the recent version:

To manually uninstall AAW, please do the following:

1.Delete the entire AAW folder
2.Delete these registry keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Lavasoft\AD-Aware

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Ad-aware 5.71 ".

Note: The second key listed may not be there if you have the version of AA with the un-install problem - if so, just delete the first one.
