Hi All:

Fred Langa mentions IE-SPYAD in the 5/2/02 edition of his popular LangaList newsletter (thanks Fred!):

http://www.langa.com/newsletters/2002/2002-05-02.htm#2

In response to a reader's recommendation of IE-SPYAD as a method of handling annoying pop-ups and pop-unders, Fred raises at least one issue with using IE-SPYAD. You can read my response to Fred's concerns here:

As always, I'm more than happy to answer questions and concerns regarding IE-SPYAD.

Best,

Eric L. Howes

Hi Eric,

Thanks for your posting and your responce.
I fully agree with you. It's everybody's own choise to add or not to add sites to the restricted zone.
I'm a happy user of IE-SPYAD (and S.Martins HOSTS-file).
I always read through in particular the "not-for-everyone"-section, where I "enable" almost everything (deleting the semi-colon and the space).
(BTW: I found out that "enabling" the DigitalRiver site is not a good decision for me in case I want to buy a program on-line which is sold via DR).
And just as users can choose to delete some items in IE-SPYAD or HOSTS, they can also put sites in the Restricted-Zone or HOSTS if they want.

As far as I'm concerned: please go on with the good work!
